Dear Sir or Madam,
On February 2, 2007 I have flown on an ALITALIA flight from Milan to Toronto (Canada) in course of which a number of movies were shown to entertain its passengers on a long haul flight. But one of the movies, Italian made, was absolutely extraordinary! Although shown in its original spoken version, Italian, the subtitles were more than adequate to ensure that the intended message of the extraordinary performance and dialogues of the story’s actors in La Chiari di Casa will not be adversely affected.
I was so very impressed by the story and, again, by the exquisite acting of Andrea and his father, equally well supported by the lady-mother visiting her handicapped daughter (in the sanatorium), while, by chance, encountering and so appropriately and pointedly challenging the very emotional foundation of Andrea’s father, and his very consciousness, that I have decided to enlist the movie into my mental list of the top five I have ever seen in my adult life. I would love to see it again and, also, to ensure my wife and the two children could enjoy it as well, for the story is loaded with a huge dose of humanity and dignity, and nobleness of its characters, far superseding a great majority of Hollywood’s intellectual and emotional shallowness, and the robustness of its hi-tech trickery effects. However, our DVD or Video rental outlets do not carry such quality movies, regrettably, and I do not know how to obtain it. Therefore, in due respect, I would love to ask of you to try to provide an advice as to how to get it…? I would like to give it to my wife as a birthday present in the middle of the Summer, if possible at all. Please advice.
I remain respectfully yours,
Peter Pauer
