Anton Corbijn è famoso nel mondo musicale per aver diretto diversi e bellissimi videoclip dei Depeche Mode ora si è dato alla regia di un lungometraggio in bianco e nero, Control, sulla vita di Ian Curtis leader dei Joy Division.
Ian Curtis (1956-1980) è interpretato da Sam Riley (la cui somiglianza è impressionante) mentre il ruolo della moglie Deborah è andato a Samantha Morton. La storia è tratta dal libro ‘Touching From a Distance’ proprio scritto da Deborah.
Naturalmente la pellicola è incentrata su Ian, sulla sua vita e sui suoi amori, sulla musica, sulla sua salute (soffriva di crisi epilettiche), fino al suo suicidio. Il titolo Control si deve ad una canzone dei Joy Division ‘She’s Lost Control’, scritta da Ian per un’amica, anch’essa epilettica e morta dopo una forte crisi.
Il film è stato presentato al Festival di Cannes 2007 con un buon successo ed anche in America ha avuto la sua bella fetta di cultori. Non si sa però se arriverà in Italia. Su continua foto e due trailer.

07 gen 2008 - 10:53 - #2Il film è stato accolto molto bene anche da chi non ha mai ascoltato i Joy Division. Però sembra che in Italia manchi ancora un distributore. A questo punto, anche se mi fa male dirlo, mi accontenterei dell’uscita ONLY ON DVD purché il film arrivi qui da noi.

un po’ dumentaristico, ma toccante. come la storia del protagonista.
l’ho visto ovviamente in lingua originale.
l’attore è praticamente identico a Ian.
in realtà faccio fatica a scrivere commenti perchè m’ha lasciato senza parole. un po’ un pugno allo stomaco, nonostante la storia sia conosciuta.
vedetelo. non è poi così impossibile in inglese.

Possibile che i distributori italiani siano così ignoranti? E’ mesi che aspetto che questo film si decida ad uscire. Sveglia!!!

02 ott 2008 - 10:11 - #9ho visto il film quest’inverno in lingua originale poichè i joy division sono uno dei miei gruppi preferiti. Sebbene sia un’opera perfetta (la fotografia in bianco e nero è mozzafiato), trovo ignobile speculare sul mito del musicista maledetto.
Sconsigliato a chi nutre un po’ di rispetto per Ian Curtis e soci.
