Stasera in tv: Dietro la maschera, su RaiMovie – trailer, colonna sonora e curiosità

RaiMovie stasera 19 giugno alle ore 21.00 propone Dietro la Maschera (Mask), un film del 1985, diretto da Peter Bogdanovich con Cher ed Eric Stoltz. Dopo avervi consigliato Il Buio oltre la Siepe la settimana scorsa, ecco che oggi vi consiglio questo. Vediamo la trama e qualche curiosità.

1. Il film è tratto da una storia vera, ossia la vita di Roy Lee Dennis, nato il 4 dicembre 1961 e morto il 4 ottobre 1978, a 16 anni.
2. Roy “Rocky” Dennis è interpretato da Eric Stoltz, la madre Florence da Cher.
3. Nella versione Director’s cut ci sono delle canzoni di Bruce Springsteen.
4. Val Kilmer fu chiamato per interpretare Gar, ma fu respinto perché era troppo giovane per la parte. Alla fine fu scelto Sam Elliott.
5. Rob Lowe era stato scelto per il ruolo di Rocky Dennis. Ha rifiutato a causa di conflitti di programmazione con un film che successivamente è stato annullato.
6. Eric Stoltz ha trascorso così tanto tempo sotto il trucco che quando arrivò alla festa post-produzione ha dovuto presentare il suo tesserino per dimostrare che era davvero Eric Stoltz.
7. Anche Kevin Costner è stato considerato per il ruolo di Rocky Dennis.
8. Florence ‘Rusty’ Dennis, la madre di Rocky, è morta l’11 novembre 2006, all’età di 70 anni per le ferite riportate in un incidente in moto.
9. Nella vita reale Rocky Dennis non fu sepolto. Sua madre ha donato il suo corpo alla UCLA Medical Center per uno studio medico.
10. Florence in realtà aveva due figli. Il figlio maggiore, Joshua, è scomparso nel 1987 a 32 anni a causa di complicazioni da AIDS, che ha ricevuto attraverso una trasfusione di sangue.
11. Il film è stato girato in California e più precisamente ad Azusa, Los Angeles, Malibu, e agli Stage 28 e Stage 36 degli Universal Studios.
