Star Wars Celebration 2015 per la prima volta in diretta streaming.
Dal 16 al 19 aprile la saga di Star Wars sarà celebrata in una ricca e intensa "quattro giorni" con l'evento annuale Star Wars Celebration che si svolgerà ad Anheim in California.
Per la prima volta oltre 30 ore di contenuti video esclusivi dall'evento saranno ufficialmente in live streaming per la comunità mondiale di fan sul sito StarWars.com. Ad inaugurare il maggior appuntamento mondiale dei fan della saga di George Lucas, il 16 aprile alle 19, ora italiana, saranno il regista J.J. Abrams e la produttrice Kathleen Kennedy che presenteranno il panel di Star Wars – Episodio VII: Il risveglio della Forza, con ospiti speciali e contenuti esclusivi come il nuovo trailer del film e una prima locandina ufficiale. Il tutto sul web e via smartphone in tempo reale.
I contenuti saranno disponibili in 68 lingue, grazie alle tecnologie di Yappn, e i fan sono invitati a postare in anticipo le proprie domande tramite la pagina facebook.com/StarWars.it. Alcune di queste domande potrebbero ottenere una risposta dal vivo nel corso del panel.
Il sito StarWars.com renderà disponibili oltre 30 ore di streaming di contenuti in diretta con oltre una dozzina di panel e di eventi, tra cui incontri con gli attori Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Ian McDiarmid, e diversi altri artisti associati con la saga di Star Wars. Tra gli eventi dal vivo StarWars.com proporrà interviste in diretta con ospiti celebri all'interno del set della Cantina di Star Wars appositamente ricostruita per catturare l'umore e l'atmosfera del famigerato locale di Mos Eisley da Star Wars: Episodio IV - Una nuova speranza. Inoltre clip in esclusiva dall'evento saranno disponibii "on demand" permettendo agli appassionati di celebrare Star Wars a lungo anche dopo che l'evento live sarà terminato.
Come evento speciale della convention è stato rivelato che Gareth Edwards (Rogue One) e Josh Trank (spin-off senza titolo di Star Wars) presenzieranno ad un panel dal titolo "Conversations with Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank". Il panel avrà luogo Domenica 19 Aprile (11:00-12:00). Kathleen Kennedy, Kiri Hart e Pablo Hidalgo saranno affiancati dai registi Gareth Edwards e Josh Trank che condivideranno le loro esperienze come nuovi membri della famiglia creativa Lucasfilm.
Dal momento che nessuno dei due spin-off di Star Wars ha iniziato ancora la produzione, di certo non ci sarà alcun filmato da mostrare in occasione della presentazione della durata di un'ora, ma è possibile che nuovi membri del cast siano rivelati, o i realizzatori potrebbero anche mostrare alcuni filmati realizzati con concept art inediti. Lo spin-off Rogue One ha un solo membro del cast confermato in questo momento, Felicity Jones, ma pare ci sia anche Ben Mendelsohn candidato ad un ruolo da protagonista, anche se nessuna trattativa con l'attore è stata confermata. Nessun dettaglio sulla trama è al momento disponibile ma ci sono voci che la trama potrebbe seguire un gruppo di cacciatori di taglie o pirati spaziali che cercando di rubare i piani per la Morte Nera originale.
Per quanto riguarda il secondo spin-off ancora senza titolo che sarà diretto da Josh Trank, non si sa nulla circa la trama, ma ci sono state voci recenti che Lucasfilm e Disney stavano pensando di rimuovere il regista dal progetto, ma dal momento che Trank è in arrivo per partecipare a Star Wars Celebration, queste voci hanno finito per smentirsi da sole.

Mike Seibert and Keri Bean, both from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory give a joint talk on their missions and the relevant connection to the Star Wars Universe. Bean works on the Dawn mission in the asteroid belt, and Seibert works on the Mars Exploration Rover mission.
