Annunciati i vincitori dei Golden Globes 2021 con Netflix ha guidato la competizione con 42 nomination e 10 vittorie tra cinema e serie tv. L’acclamato Nomadland prosegue trionfante la sua corsa verso gli “Oscar 2021” incassando due Golden Globes: miglior dramma e miglior regista a Chloe Zao, seconda donna e prima donna di colore a vincere nella categoria.
Per il versante commedia sbanca Sacha Baron Cohen che con Borat 2 di Amazon si aggiudica i premi per la miglior commedia e il miglior attore in un commedia, mentre la miglior performance femminile in una commedia se l’aggiudica la strepitosa Rosamund Pike per I Care a Lot di Netflix.
Per le performance drammatiche premiati il compianto Chadwick Boseman, l’attore si aggiudica un Golden Globe postumo per il suo ultimo ruolo in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, mentre Andra Day è la miglior attrice in un dramma per il ruolo della leggendaria cantante Billie Holiday nel biopic musicale The United States vs. Billie Holiday. Tra i premiati anche il film d’animazione Soul e il brano “Io Si (Seen)” di Laura Pausini tratto dalla colonna sonora del dramma La vita davanti a sé di Netflix.
La 78esima edizione dei Golden Globes, prima edizione andata in onda sulle opposte coste statunitensi e in virtuale, è stata presentata dal duo Tina Fey e Amy Poehler. Fey è andata in diretta dalla Rainbow Room del Rockefeller Center a New York City, mentre Poehler dalla consueta locantion dei Globes all’interno del Beverly Hilton Hotel di Beverly Hills, in California.
